Gunstar Heroes is a side-scrolling shooting game developed by Sega. The game is available for various systems, including Play Station 3. You have two gameplay options from the start: you can run and shoot or not move while shooting. Both ways have their strengths and weaknesses that you can choose based on your playing style. After that, the game introduces you to many different types of weapons. Each type has its advantages, from lightning weapons that pierce enemies and hit other enemies to fire types to weapons that lock on targets. All can be combined to create your favorite combo. But don’t get too comfortable with your gameplay because if you die, your weapon selection will be reset, and you must rebuild it through items picked up from enemies.

You will have a health bar that can increase your health through power-ups that sometimes drop from enemies. This means that if you dodge enough, you can create a significant health bar for yourself as your health increases. You can shoot in the game and throw enemies and objects, dive forward to damage enemies, cling to objects, and climb obstacles. You can also shoot while clinging to objects. All the mechanics in the game work great and are a lot of fun.

There are seven different levels, each with a boss battle. One thing that makes the game easy to play is that if you die during the boss battle, you will respawn at the beginning of the boss battle. I think the Dice Palace is the best level, but people may find this level annoying. The level is designed like a board game; you roll the dice and face the challenge the box lands on. Most boss battles occur here with many unique bosses, different skills, and lots of fun to play.

Some tiles are limited-time events where you must move from one place to another. There is also a power-up room containing weapons and health. The graphics aren’t great, but they’re great in their way.
